Professional Advice
Proactive people work with their legal counsel to identify opportunity and address risk. Our combination of skill and experience helps you take advantage of the opportunities while minimizing the risks. The truism that "The best defense is a good offense" holds up.

With a broad range of clients, we have the necessary experience to service both your professional and personal needs. In areas involving business, my Certified Public Accountant background offers you insights that are overlooked by others. I will work with you to take advantage of every opportunity.

Testimonials
Not only have I asked Steven to handle business issues, but he also helped me out personally. I value his judgment, his concern and his hard work. He truly is a remarkable attorney and person.
Karen Rankin
Ernst & Young, LLP

I asked Mr. Phelps to put together a partnership agreement for a medical practice involving a physician and his son-in-law. Not only did the doctors praise Mr. Phelps for his clear writing style (they actually understood the partnership agreement) but also he also deftly handled the negotiations so the family remained together!

5 Star Tips
  1. Take advantage of our free consultation. With a free thirty-minute overview, we can better understand your individual situation. Even if you decide not to go forward with our recommendations, you will at least have a better grasp of your opportunities and risks.
  2. Being proactive usually saves you time and money in the long run. Talk to a qualified attorney about managing your business and personal risks. Always try to minimize those risks as litigation remains a common occurrence.
  3. Look at the legal and tax advantages of forming a corporation or limited liability company. But, be cautious of using "file-in-the-blank" forms as they do not fit all situations and typically overlook optional protections. Use competent legal counsel from the beginning as it is more difficult to correct mistakes afterwards.
  4. Asset protection is an important step in safekeeping what you already earned. Don't overlook it.
