Dear Friends,
Ah, money! Is it the root of all evil or is it a blessing to be counted? Most people
would say that would depend on how much money we're talking about!
The tips I'm giving here are good for everyone no matter how much you money have or how
much you make. Money, actually the way you handle money, is one of the key ingredients
to living a happy life! The ideas here are meant to be helpful and before you decide to
follow any of them, be sure to consult with a financial advisor or your accountant
(sounds like one of those disclaimers you here on advertisements for fitness equipment).
Money Magazine and the market research firm Roper ASW conducted a study to try and
determine three things. First, what influence money has on happiness, Secondly, what
attitudes, habits, behaviors and knowledge separate people who are happy with their
finances from those who are not. And lastly, what type of effect changing those
attitudes, habits and behaviors would have on people's lives.
Their research revealed some very interesting things. Perhaps the most interesting item is that you don't have to be a millionaire (or even close) to be happy with your financial situation; surprisingly, the sweet spot for financial happiness is a household income of $50,000 per year. The median income for American families is about $44,000 per year so many people are very close to this sweets spot and many are at it or over it, yet financial happiness is a very elusive thing.
