Best of all, most have walked away looking younger and more vital. So it’s no surprise that many people return, year after year, for their checkups and dental cleanings to one of the best Dallas cosmetic dentistry practices – even flying in from overseas. Why? We work overtime to make sure you feel like family and that the work and experience you receive with our focus on customer service is world-class – simply impeccable. The truth is, your oral health is our top priority. In fact, what sets Dallas Laser Dentistry apart is the creed we live by – a beautiful smile starts with a healthy foundation. Your Assessment Tool Kit

Tool #1 – Evaluate what you like and what you’d like changed with our Smile Assessment. Take the time to critically identify the good and the “could be better” about your current smile.

Tool #2 – Visit the office for a free smile consultation. The doctor can discuss your desires in real-time as well as offer suggestions.

Tool #3 – A Digital Smile Simulation. As part of the smile consultation we’ll create a smile simulation to approximate how the recommended treatments would change your smile.

He Went from Exhausted to Ecstatic. “Because of my unattractive teeth, I’d stopped smiling and, in many instances, stopped speaking. I was sinking lower and lower – at the end of my rope. When I walked into Dallas Laser Dentistry, I was exhausted. I’d been to the office after office trying to get help for my dull, discolored smile, but no one could help me visualize the difference in my smile that cosmetic dentistry would make. Given that major cosmetic dentistry is quite an investment, I didn’t know if it would be worth it. The doctor suggested a Smile Simulation so I could make my own decision as to whether the investment in cosmetic dentistry would be worth it to me. When I saw what I could look like, I was blown away – I was ready to start living again. I got eight porcelain dental veneers and laser teeth whitening. Now I just can’t stop smiling – I’m ecstatic, a completely new person and best of all, everyone says they’ve never seen me happier!”

What’s Our Cosmetic Dentistry Process?

  1. It starts with a self-assessment by you, then after a discussion with you an assessment by our doctor. Tools to help you self-assess include completing our Smile Assessment, in-person consultation, or just finding and bringing in a photo of someone with a smile you really like will help the doctor best understand your desires. The doctor will then assess both your oral health since we want your investment to last and your desires and preferences cosmetically.
  2. Step 2 is for the doctor to develop a custom treatment plan, which may contain restorations required to optimize your oral health, as well as the recommended cosmetic procedures from our Cosmetic Dentistry Toolkit. Specific costs are determined, and financing options are discussed if desired.
  3. With your decision to proceed, payment arrangements are made, and your first appointment is scheduled.

Here’s What’s Inside Our Award-Winning Cosmetic Dentistry Toolkit:

Tool #1 – Dazzle with Premium Porcelain Dental Veneers.

Want to be red-carpet-ready with a dazzling, Hollywood smile? Dallas Laser Dentistry has had a decades-long relationship with the premium craftsmen that originated Hollywood’s DaVinci Labs, creators of DaVinci porcelain veneers, and the go-to provider for the fabulous smiles of A-list actors and entertainers, as well as with other premium labs. Where premium labs’ artistry comes in is taking the customized design our doctors provide, then creating porcelain dental veneers that match the porcelain to your other teeth so that they look beautifully bright – not bathtub white – and completely natural.

Here’s How We Place Porcelain Dental Veneers

First, you’ll come in and spend on average about two hours with your doctor getting prepped for your veneers. This includes taking 3-D laser digital impressions of your teeth, which are then sent to the lab, where the artists will custom-design each one to our specifications and match them to the color of your teeth. Two to three weeks later, you’ll spend about two hours getting your veneers permanently placed. Each one is bonded to the front of your teeth to cover stains, close small gaps and straighten crooked teeth – whatever your needs are. In fact, the dental veneers create a strong bond that actually strengthens each tooth. How cool is that? Best of all, they’re designed to be resistant to coffee, tea, sodas, and cigarettes. This way, you can drink up and enjoy your life without any worries. The end result: you’ll emerge with the appearance, function, and feel of real teeth that are amazingly white and contagious–you’ll be fabulous!

The New Smile That Saved Her Big Day. “I was very excited about getting married but terribly upset about my teeth. I just didn’t feel beautiful: I had a gorgeous, dreamy white gown but my smile just didn’t match. I’d tried teeth whitening once, but my teeth were still yellow and dull, and there was some crowding. Plus, some teeth looked too short and some too long. In fact, I was having so much anxiety about my unsightly teeth it seemed to be affecting everything about my upcoming nuptials. Fortunately, the cosmetic dentist at Dallas Laser Dentistry came to my rescue with a customized plan. I started with Invisalign® orthodontics to make sure my teeth were straight and in position. Next, I had laser gum contouring and laser teeth whitening. Finally, I received DaVinci veneers whose color and sparkle matched my newly whitened teeth… When the big day arrived, I was beaming with the smile and the man of my dreams. My wedding was even more magical than I ever thought it could be.”

Tool #2 – Speed the Process with Invisalign Orthodontics.

No longer do you have to endure years of embarrassing metal in your mouth to get straight teeth. Dr. Mary Swift and Dr. Morgan Petty are Gold Providers of Invisalign aligners, a painless process that invisibly and comfortably often straightens teeth in half the time of regular braces. At Dallas Laser Dentistry, everything starts with digital 3-D laser scans – we’re one of the few offices in North Texas with this technology, which dramatically increases the accuracy and fit of the Invisalign aligners. Our philosophy for smile makeovers is simple: if you can move it, don’t remove it. Thus, for people with great teeth that are just crooked or crowded, a new smile can be created easily by combining Invisalign and laser teeth whitening. However, if your teeth themselves are not great, Invisalign can be used to set the foundation for your gorgeous, perfectly designed smile using porcelain veneers.

Here’s How Getting Invisalign Works

To begin the process, we’ll create a model of your current mouth, so get ready for something totally different. Unlike Old School dentists who shove bulky trays full of goop in your mouth, you’ll get a digital 3-D laser scan of your mouth. Then, Dr. Swift or Dr. Petty will create a sequence in a software program for how the aligners will move your teeth during treatment. Then, with a click of a button, that digital plan is sent to the manufacturing facility where your aligners are created. In a few weeks, you’ll receive the first set of aligners that you’ll wear for one to two weeks at a time, removing only to brush, floss, and eat. Most people go through 18-30 sets of aligners, which takes on average about eight months. However, each person is different, so the time varies. After you’re finished, you’ll need to continue to wear a retainer, but only at night to keep your teeth from drifting and undoing the treatment. It’s such a fast, easy process! She Got Her Groove Back – and a New Job. “I was a young professional, working hard and climbing the corporate ladder. However, there were days when I’d sit at my desk and just about cry. Every year, my colleagues were getting raises and promotions, and I was routinely getting passed over. I felt left out – powerless and depressed. However, I had a sneaking suspicion that my crooked, crowded teeth were holding me back. That’s why I came to Dallas Laser Dentistry. I started with Invisalign not only to position my teeth correctly but also to correct my bite. Next, I had gum contouring, which made my smile symmetric. Finally, after Invisalign treatment, laser whitening made me look younger. Now, I have a killer smile and I’ve been told that I light up the room wherever I go – and it’s not just my mom saying so. Better still, I quit my old job and have a position with more responsibility, along with a higher salary! I definitely got my groove back!”

Tool #3 – Sparkle with Laser Teeth Whitening.

As we age our teeth darken and yellow, which is why contagious smiles usually begin with white teeth. But what exactly is laser teeth whitening? A tool from Star Wars? The doctors at Dallas Laser Dentistry use a high-tech laser to whiten your teeth that works faster and harder than any at-home products ever could. Fortunately, it’s virtually painless and there is no more effective teeth whitening procedure. You’ll be the very picture of awesome. Sometimes laser teeth whitening is all you need to create a beautiful, younger-looking smile. If not, we will recommend laser whitening first, and then, if you so choose, matching the veneer color to your new whiter smile.

Here’s How it Works

Laser teeth whitening is the quickest way to get your contagious smile because it only takes about one hour. How’s this possible? The doctors at Dallas Laser Dentistry use a high-tech laser to activate the molecules in the whitening agent, causing them to move more quickly and react with your teeth’s enamel faster. Unlike at-home whitening strips, brush-on gels, and whitening toothpaste, which only make your teeth two to three shades whiter, our doctors can typically make your teeth eight shades whiter–in just one treatment! In addition to the color of your teeth, we consider your gums – oftentimes, your gums can be burned by the bleaching agent in take-home whitening treatments. We paint on a protective shield over your gums so the burning can’t occur. After you see your brilliant smile, you’ll wonder why you didn’t whiten before.

After you’re finished, a contagious smile isn’t the only thing you’ll leave with – you’ll receive an at-home touch-up kit to keep your smile pristine and shining. We also offer a Laser Whitening for Life Program–just ask!

Her Brightened Teeth Changed Everything. “I had yellow, crowded teeth and I rarely smiled, and when I did, I covered my mouth with my hand. Over the years, I started to feel steadily worse. I began declining social invitations and the truth was, I simply lost my sense of self. I happened to run into a friend who had her smile re-created at Dallas Laser Dentistry and was so impressed that I called them immediately. My doctor created a personalized plan that included Invisalign orthodontics, which straightened my teeth. Then to erase the horrible yellow, I had laser teeth whitening. These days, I’m told that my smile is bright and contagious, but the best thing is that I’m happier than I have been in many years–my ‘dance card is always full!”

Tool #4 – Become Irresistible with Our Smile Makeover.

What is a Smile Makeover? A Smile Makeover combines one or more of the cosmetic dentistry tools in our cosmetic dental toolkit as needed to optimize your smile. It’s the ultimate in cosmetic dentistry and it starts with your FREE Smile Consultation. After this process, you can forget those photo filters on social media! Ready to be fabulous? Thought so!

Here’s How A Smile Makeover Is Done

When you get a Smile Makeover, the first thing you’ll do is meet with one of our doctors in person to discuss your dental goals. The doctor will then discuss options to enhance your smile compatible with your goals. From here, you’ll get an individually crafted smile design and treatment plan that fits your personality, your facial contours, and your budget. Whether we use laser teeth whitening, implants, white crowns, Invisalign, DaVinci veneers, dental implants, or a combination of all of these, we’re here to create the smile of your dreams. Learn more about Smile Makeovers.

Finally, He Put Himself First. “I felt like I was the perfect husband: I had a great job, was a prince to my wife and thought of every little thing when caring for my kids. Always giving, giving, giving – forever putting others first. Finally, I hit a wall when I realized that I was feeling a bit resentful. I’d always wanted to fix my crooked, ragged teeth and finally decided it was my turn, so I came to Dallas Laser Dentistry for a Smile Makeover. My teeth were straightened with Invisalign, and crowns and implants were needed to restore some decayed back teeth, and then after laser whitening, I had DaVinci veneers placed on the teeth that were visible when I smiled – something I do a lot lately. When I looked in the mirror and saw my new smile, tears welled up in my eyes, I was so happy. Today, I look years younger, feel energized, and am ready to help anyone at a moment’s notice.”

Tool #5 – Gain Confidence with Dental Implants.

Tired of being embarrassed about missing teeth? Worry no more because we’ve got you covered with three types of dental implants, a permanent replacement for a missing tooth or teeth:

  • Single-tooth implants are made from titanium that is surgically placed in your jaw to support a crown.
  • Implant-supported permanent dentures called All-On-4 from Nobel Biocare®, a system that secures dentures permanently to your upper and/or lower jaw.
  • Implant-supported bridges are permanent replacements for multiple missing teeth that are next to each other.

After one of these procedures, you’re going to be so happy you had it done!

During your appointment, our oral surgeon will use advanced dental technology, 3D scans, and 3-D X-rays, to accurately plot your entire mouth and figure out where the new implants should go for your maximum comfort and support. Why so much prep? Simply put, we do things the right way so your implants will last. Then you’ll come in and the implant will be placed in your jaw by the oral surgeon, and a temporary crown will be placed until the implant has fully integrated itself with your jaw.

If you have lost all or most of your teeth All-On-4 implants is the likely treatment alternative to removable dentures. Permanent, rather than removable, dentures are attached to implants in your jaw, eliminating most of the discomfort and embarrassment that can come with traditional dentures. It will take about two-three hours for the surgical procedure. Good news – you’ll be under full IV sedation – you can sleep right through it.

Afterward, you’ll follow up with visits for several months to make sure your gums are healing and your implants are integrating properly with your bone. Another thing – you’ll be limited to a soft/liquid diet. But who doesn’t love smoothies, right? When you’re sufficiently healed, your permanent dentures will be attached to the implant supports.

If you’re getting implant-supported removable dentures, you’ll follow the same process: you’ll get 3D scans and X-rays to evaluate the condition of the bones in your mouth. If your bones are not strong enough to withstand implant-supported dentures, we’ll first need to create new bones through transplantation. Once you’ve been cleared for sufficiency of bone structure, you’ll undergo surgery to place the implants in the places your dentist and surgeon have agreed will be optimal to support your dentures. Finally, special dentures are constructed that are designed to be attached to the implants, and they’re placed in your mouth. This might sound like a long process, but having a contagious smile is so worth it! Learn more about dental implants.

His Mojo Returned, Along with His Good Looks. “Not to be braggy, but I considered myself to be pretty good-looking. I played sports in high school and kept in good shape. But one day, something terrible happened – I lost my front tooth in a freak accident. Needless to say, I was devastated. I’d had a flipper put in where the tooth was missing, but it never looked right, so when I smiled I was overcome with shame. I wanted to climb into a hole and hide. I avoided smiling, didn’t want to go out. All my friends thought I was depressed – and I was. That’s why I consulted Dallas Laser Dentistry. I received a dental implant and crown for my missing tooth, along with five porcelain veneers. Now that my smile is restored, I’ve got my mojo back. I’m out living my life again and feel more self-assured than ever!”

Tool #6 – Smile Wide with Tooth-colored Fillings.

If you don’t want gold or silver fillings that are noticeable, now you’ve got an alternative – Composite and ceramic fillings that are the color of your teeth.

Here’s How it Works

This won’t hurt. You’re given local anesthesia or sedation so that you won’t feel a thing. Now that we’ve removed your fear, let’s walk you through what we do. First, we search for cavities and tooth decay with digital X-rays. If the decay is relatively minor and does not require a crown, we recommend a white filling. When you’re ready to get started, your tooth and the area around it will be numbed. Your doctor will continue to prep your mouth and when ready, remove the decay with a dental drill. Even though you hear it, rest assured, you won’t feel it! Next, composite material, the color of your natural teeth, is used to create the filling, leaving as much of your healthy tooth structure as possible. Learn more about tooth-colored fillings.

“I have to be honest, I didn’t brush and floss as much as I should have. Consequently, I paid the price and got some cavities. I had them previously fixed with silver fillings, but when I ate and smiled, they were quite noticeable, showing everyone I hadn’t taken care of my teeth. How do I know this? My best friend told me so and I was horrified. But instead of just leaving me upset without any solution, she suggested Dallas Laser Dentistry. I got in quickly and I had my silver fillings replaced with tooth-colored fillings. Now I feel so much better and am very disciplined about taking care of my teeth – especially since my smile is so beautiful now!”

Tool #7 – Feel Secure with White Crowns/Bridges.

If you have a cavity that needs treatment, but it’s too large to treat with a filling, you’ll need a crown instead to save the tooth. Even better, temporary crowns are also available while your permanent one is being made.

Bridges can be used when you have one or more missing teeth with healthy teeth on either side. They are permanently attached to the adjacent teeth, creating a “bridge” with a false tooth in between. This will prevent any further damage to your existing teeth, stop tooth movement and improve how you chew and speak, as well as your overall appearance. You can have bridges made from gold, alloys, zirconia, porcelain, or a combination, depending on what you want; however, the most popular are those that match your teeth.

Here’s How it Works

If you’re getting a crown, all it takes is two office visits. On the first visit, your teeth (or tooth) are treated for decay, and in some cases you may need other treatment like a root canal. After your exam, your mouth will be numbed with local anesthesia. Then, after treatment, a laser digital impression will be made and sent to a lab, where the permanent crown will be made. A temporary crown will be placed on your tooth until you return. On your second visit, you’ll get local anesthesia and receive your permanent crown. How easy is that?

If you’re getting a bridge, you’ll come in and receive local anesthesia, then your adjacent teeth that will anchor your bridge will be prepped. Next, laser digital impressions will be made of your teeth to send to the lab that will construct the bridge. A temporary bridge is placed to wear until the permanent bridge is ready. Finally, your bridge will be permanently bonded to your teeth. You’ll look spectacular!

She Conquered Her Crippling Fear and Started Living. “I had been living with years of debilitating fear. I was afraid to smile, talk and even engage with most people. I knew I needed to get my discolored, jagged teeth fixed, but I lacked the self-confidence to ask for help. One day, I heard from a friend about Dallas Laser Dentistry and I knew it was now or never. I pulled myself together and drove to their office, but when I arrived, I circled the building three times before I had the courage to come in. Finally, I took a deep breath, walked through their doors, and was welcomed with open arms. That day, in addition to getting a cleaning, I decided to ask for a free Smile Consultation. After hearing what could be done I was presented with the treatment plan and specific costs, and I immediately decided to move ahead. I started Invisalign measurements that same day. After my teeth were straightened, they did laser whitening and used white crowns to complete my smile. A few months after the process began, it all came together with my new smile, and when I saw myself in the mirror, I cried – so did my doctor. I had never seen who I truly could become – a beautiful woman who has a contagious smile. Now, I’m deliriously happy, working a great job and traveling all over the world. Each time I come into the office, it’s like a big party – I tell them where I’ve been and where I’m going next. I am forever grateful to the doctor and staff at Dallas Laser Dentistry for changing my life.”

Tool #8 – Shine with Cosmetic Bonding.

If you have discolored or chipped teeth, or want to close small spaces and gaps, another way to get your contagious smile is with cosmetic bonding. It’s an alternative to getting veneers, but you get the same result: a gorgeous white smile!

Here’s How Bonding Works

You’ll meet with one of our doctors to determine which teeth you’d like bonded, after which you’ll choose a beautiful, natural shade to match them. Next, your teeth will be prepped to receive tooth-colored material and adhesives, a painless process. The bonding agent is added and shaped by the dentist into the perfect shape for your teeth. After that, a high intensity curing light will seal and harden the material on your teeth. Final touch-ups and polishing are done and voila–you’ve got your stunning smile!

Chipped Teeth Fixed and She’s Breathing Easier. “When I arrived at Dallas Laser Dentistry, I was walking fast, with my head down, not making eye contact with anyone. I’d chipped two of my front teeth something awful and was so ashamed. As I started to explain to the doctor what happened, my breath became labored, and I started to shake – I was trying to hold back my tears. The doctor assured me that she could help and when I heard this, immediately, my whole body relaxed. My anxiety was alleviated, instantly. With my personalized plan, I received cosmetic bonding that matched my natural tooth color. I left calm, cool, and collected with my new, perfect smile! I felt like myself again!”

Life-changing stories like these are what the doctors at Dallas Laser Dentistry are known for – and keep them going, day in and day out.

Costs of Cosmetic Dentistry

Improving your smile with cosmetic dentistry covers a wide range of potential costs, depending upon the procedures done, the quality of materials and labs used, the location of the practice, and the experience and specific skills of the cosmetic dentist. Teeth whitening can be the least expensive, while a smile makeover using porcelain veneers tends to be the most expensive.

Determining if you can afford it is a very personal decision, depending upon the level of discretionary income and the degree of desire to improve your smile. The good news is that there are a variety of ways to pay for cosmetic dentistry treatment:

  • We accept most major credit and debit cards
  • We offer third-party financing that can extend payments up to five years with Alphaeon
  • We accept existing CareCredit accounts

Another way to save money on cosmetic procedures and other preventative and restorative dentistry is by joining our Preferred Patient Membership Program. Patients choosing the Cosmetic Plan save 15% on cosmetic procedures, plus all diagnostic, exams, and preventative procedures are included for the next year. Be sure to ask about this program when you decide to have us change your life by changing your smile with cosmetic dentistry!

Cosmetic Dentistry Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

01

For most of our patients the answer has been “Yes”! When you change your smile, you often change your life in both subtle and obvious ways. If you’ve been ashamed to smile, and now can’t help smiling all the time, everyone around you will notice the difference and subconsciously perceive and interact with you differently. Our patients have reported new jobs, raises and promotions, new relationships, improved relationships, being told that they look younger, improved self-confidence and self-esteem. The list goes on. Remember, this is not a dress rehearsal. You’ve got one life and one smile. Make them dazzling!

02

Yes. Statistics show that you have :10 to make an impression, to “wow” someone, or not…. With cosmetic dentistry, you’ll maximize your impact – and improve your life exponentially. We like to think of a new smile as an investment that never stops paying you in compliments. Another way to think about a new smile is this – beautiful cars lose their value. Beautiful smiles don’t.

03

Yes. In fact, what reveals your age most is the color and shape of your teeth. When you get a new smile, you immediately look younger. It’s the modern-day fountain of youth and a lot better (and a lot less painful) than a facelift. In fact, many patients have reported that as soon as they got their new smile, people commented that they looked younger – or that they’ve lost weight. Before you hire a trainer, change your smile.

04

No. We’ve perfected the art of the smile. Our doctors take into consideration the whole picture – your face shape, your lips, the symmetry of your gums and face. In essence, our doctors are artisans and you are the canvas. Like a fingerprint, no smile is alike. That’s why we work to create a dazzling, contagious smile that’s you and only you.

05

No. Many people in Hollywood and business have been getting new smiles for years. We’re just making it more accessible to the general public. Truth is, a white smile never goes out of style. Think about this – you invest in a fabulous wardrobe, why wear a less-than smile? A dazzling smile is a classic, important accessory that completes any outfit.

06

First, you’ll look aesthetically better. Straight teeth boost your confidence. In fact, some patients have seen them as powerful game-changers in all areas of their lives. However, there are some very real health issues. To start, straight teeth allow you to chew, bite and speak more effectively than crooked teeth. But it goes deeper than this. Here are a few of the main disorders associated with crooked teeth:

Periodontitis or gum disease – Begins with a bacterial infection. The bacterial infection is caused by inadequate oral hygiene. Crooked teeth are hard to effectively clean, which means that debris, plaque, and bacteria can build up in hard-to-reach areas. Straight teeth are much easier to clean and you are at less risk of contracting gum disease, or better able to manage existing gum disease.
Temporomandibular Disorder (TMJ) – Crooked teeth can lead to improper jaw alignment, which in turn causes a painful condition known as TMJ. Severe headaches, jaw pain and grinding of teeth characterize this debilitating disorder.
Tooth injury – Straight teeth create a strong wall, which means injuries are less likely to occur. Crooked teeth are weaker and often protrude, making them far more vulnerable to external injury.
Uneven wear – Crooked teeth cause some of the teeth to work harder than others when biting and chewing. Straight teeth share the workload evenly, meaning less risk of injury and better aesthetics, and less dental work and money spent replacing cracked teeth the rest of your life.

Given all these things, either orthodontic braces or Invisalign are your best bet. In fact, we’ve found that for adults, Invisalign is the most effective. The aligners are removable and used in most cases, except when malocclusion is extremely severe, or if there are underlying bone issues that require surgery or fixed braces. You will change the aligners every week for the duration of your treatment.

07

Missing teeth are unattractive, especially if they are more visible. If they are not so visible, then you can hide them, until you open your mouth wide to laugh or eat and then they’ll be visible. The truth is when you have missing teeth, you give the impression that somehow personal grooming and hygiene is not important. And in the business world, or any world for that matter, this is paramount. First impressions count.
However, there are more than just aesthetic issues at play. Missing teeth can cause health problems because they’re like a house of cards.
When a tooth is lost, the jawbone that supports the tooth begins to atrophy, causing the teeth on either side to shift or tip into the open space of the lost tooth. The tooth above or below the open space will start to move towards the open space because there is no opposing tooth to bite on. This can cause decay, gum disease, excessive wear on certain teeth, and even cracking of other teeth. These kinds of things don’t happen immediately, but in time, they can. Fortunately, you have options:

Implants – These are artificial roots that are surgically placed into the jaw to replace one or more missing teeth. An artificial tooth is placed on the implant, creating a natural look. They’re also stable and the best alternative to a bridge. It’s a great way to create a beautiful smile.
Fixed Bridges – this type of bridge is made of porcelain or composite material and is permanently anchored to the two natural teeth adjacent to the missing site. It’s very sturdy and stable. The downside is that two healthy, natural teeth have to be crowned to hold the bridge in place, which damages these teeth. However, you still won’t be burdened with a missing tooth, which is the end game.
Removable Bridges – in complex dental situations, this is a good alternative when other replacements are not possible. Removable bridges are made of tooth-colored artificial teeth that have metal clasps that hook onto adjacent teeth. The upside is that they’re the most economical option; however, they might not look the best because the metal clasps on the appliances are hard to conceal.
Dentures – When all or most of your teeth are missing in one dental arch, dentures are a good option. They’re removable artificial teeth that are made to look like your original teeth.

No matter what you choose to replace your missing teeth, it will be better than continuing to live without them. Beautiful, full smiles are what contribute to high self-esteem. Don’t you think you deserve one?

08

While Laser teeth whitening is relatively inexpensive, a Smile Makeover is expensive as most people define it, but it’s also an investment in yourself. At Dallas Laser Dentistry, we work with you to create a customized plan that will provide the optimal results. We can also recommend other solutions that are more affordable in the short term, if needed. However, your teeth are the key to your overall health and appearance, which means most people understand and choose to take the long view. Investing in quality cosmetic dental work is something that’s well worth it, especially as you age.

09

Our main goal is to help you get the smile of your dreams. That’s why we’ve partnered with some excellent companies to provide you with options, should you want to spread the payment over time. We can help you with the application process and assist you with setting up your payment plan – often in just minutes online while in the office. Just call us and we’ll make it happen.

010

It depends on what you’re having done. If it’s laser teeth whitening or DaVinci veneers you’ll be finished in one or two appointments. If we need to add Invisalign or implants, it will take longer. However, for our veneer Smile Makeover, you can dramatically transform your smile in as few as two appointments.

011

Not usually, but if you experience any discomfort, it has to do with your teeth rehydrating or dehydrating before, during and after the bleaching. However, for most patients this tingling sensation is minimal and brief.

014

In a word, yes. But it won’t be something you can’t handle. Brushing, flossing and regular check-ups every six months will keep the smile you’ve invested in looking beautiful.

015

Yes. There are no other risks than those associated with regular dental work, which are minimal to none.

016

No, not really. Just a little bit of pressure for a day when you change trays. You’ll be amazed how comfortable the aligners are. Because they’re customized to fit your teeth and changed every week or two, you’ll hardly notice they’re there.

017

No, dental insurance will not cover any cosmetic procedure.

018

No, they actually can strengthen the teeth if properly done.

019

Occasionally, a veneer might break or come off, such as if you’re biting an ice cube. Most patients never have that happen, but if it does, we consider that a “dental emergency” and we will see you immediately, even if the office is closed, to get it fixed.

They are very thin shells of tooth-shaped porcelain that are individually crafted to cover the front and side surface of teeth. Created to our specifications by our labs in Hollywood, they are very lifelike in their appearance, durable and won’t stain, making them a very popular solution for people who want to restore or enhance the beauty of their smile for years. Veneers can be used to restore or correct these conditions:

Severely discolored or stained teeth, particularly if whitening can’t correct the issue
Unwanted or uneven spaces
Worn or chipped teeth
Slight tooth crowding
Misshapen teeth
Teeth that are too small or too large

021

It usually requires two visits. Your teeth are prepped by reducing the front surface of the teeth to allow for the small thickness of veneers. Then, we take a digital 3-D scan of your teeth – we’re one of the very few dentists in Dallas with this technology. Then, this scan is sent to the lab, where each veneer is custom-made for shape and color for your unique smile.
Two weeks later, we receive your custom veneers and place them on your teeth. The veneers are carefully fitted and bonded onto the surface of your teeth. A specialized light is used to harden and set the bond. Veneers can dramatically improve your teeth and give you a natural, contagious smile.

A cosmetic dentist focuses on any dental work that improves the appearance of your teeth and gums. Mainly cosmetic dentistry improves the aesthetics of a patient’s smile. Not only does a cosmetic dentist focus on the preventative and restorative side of dentistry, they also provide service to help with the look of your smile. This includes considering the aesthetics when restoring teeth, or moving them with orthodontics, as well as purely cosmetic procedures to improve your overall smile.

023

Cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialty by the American Dental Association, so any general dentist may call themselves a cosmetic dentist even if they have little experience doing cosmetic dentistry. General dentists are skilled in providing basic restorative and preventative care. Cosmetic dentists have the same training in preventative and restorative dentistry that general dentists have, but they have focused their practice on improving patient’s smiles through additional clinical education about cosmetic procedures and techniques and significant experience providing cosmetic services to patients.

024

Whether you are looking to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile or simply whiten your teeth, you should want to visit a cosmetic dentist to have the work done. Cosmetic dentists have the most experience doing cosmetic dental procedures, have relationships with dental labs they know provide the highest quality cosmetic work, and are in the best position to recommend the best treatment to satisfy your goals. Cosmetic dentistry is often a significant investment that changes the way you look the rest of your life – experience counts!

025

Asking friends or relatives who have had cosmetic dentistry about what was done, their experience with the dentist and staff, and directly observing the results is one good approach.
Google can be a good resource for which cosmetic dentists you look into more closely – make sure to look for organic results rather than the 3 paid results at the top of the page. Then check out Google’s top organic results to see how many Google reviews they have and their average score. For the highest of those, go to their website and look for before/after pictures to see some of their actual work. See if they’ve won any awards for cosmetic dentistry, such as the Consumer’s Choice Award voted on by patients, as well as whether they’ve been listed as a “Super Dentist” by Texas Monthly or as a “Best Dentist” by D Magazine, which is voted on by other dentists. Then visit your top pick for a consultation and see how well they listen to your desires and then make your decision!

026

Usually, yes. Invisalign is an alternative to traditional braces, where clear aligners are used to gently move teeth into place. Since having a perfect bite is very important to making sure cosmetic procedures last so you get your best return on your investment, experienced cosmetic dentists will often use Invisalign first to get the bite perfect and then do the cosmetic treatments. Also, sometimes all a patient with good teeth needs to maximize their smile is to straighten their teeth with Invisalign and then do laser teeth whitening. When we do our complimentary smile consultation with each potential patient, we discuss the options available and which ones will best achieve the patient’s goals. Not everyone needs veneers to have a Hollywood Smile!

027

Absolutely it does, just like it does in most other businesses and other aesthetic medical fields like plastic surgery. The best cosmetic dentistry is both art and science, and your new smile impacts you for the rest of your life. The best cosmetic dentists ask and get more for their work, because their experience has provided more happy patient outcomes. Additionally, the best cosmetic dentists may also have higher fees because they utilize more expensive materials and best lab craftsmen to create the cosmetic restorations they design, and their intent is to make the lifetime value better for their patients by having their work last longer. In fact, the higher the fee the more likely their skill, because with social media today if the result wasn’t worth the cost everyone would quickly find out.

Cosmetic dentistry involves any procedure that improves the appearance of your teeth, mouth or bite. Common cosmetic dentistry procedures include teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, dental implants, crowns, bonding, and shaping. Cosmetic dentists in Texas are also general dentists, so they provide all the diagnostic, preventative, and restorative procedures that a family dentist would provide. They are also very good at providing excellent ongoing routine care to make sure that cosmetic patients are doing the things needed to get the best return on their cosmetic investment.
